Brrr...
Our bodies keep a constant temperature at around 99 degrees Fahrenheit. When the body experiences hypothermia, a low body temp , it sends nerve messages from the brain to the muscles, which stimulate them to rhythmically contract and relax(shiver). The tightening and loosening of muscles helps to create warmth for the body. Our blood carries this warmth throughout our whole body, causing the rise in temperature.
